The Aliens (Migration and Residence) Law 1965 creates the obligation: Article 5(1) requires every alien to hold a valid entry visa to land in Bahrain, and Articles 3 and 27 give the Ruler and the immigration authorities the power to permit and exempt entry. The ministerial decisions and the eVisa eligibility lists operate under the authority this statute creates.
The official e-government portal states that GCC citizens enter Bahrain on their national ID cards alone, which settles that Saudi, Kuwaiti, Qatari, Omani and Emirati nationals need nothing arranged in advance; the GCC free-movement regime imposes no stay cap in any held instrument, so no duration is asserted.
