The Law on Travel and Residence of Foreign Citizens in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (Official Gazette no. 1185, 3 October 2015) is the statute that creates the visa obligation for foreign nationals entering Afghanistan; it is the instrument the IEA's own e-visa portal and embassy visa pages cite and implement.
The Embassy states that foreign nationals obtain Afghan visas in advance and that the Tourist Visa permits a stay of thirty (30) days. For this issuer the unconditional route is the consular visa; the online e-visa is available only to those residing outside the restricted countries, recorded as a separate row.
