Cabinet, at its meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, approved the removal of visa requirements for citizens of the Dominican Republic entering the Commonwealth of Dominica for visits of up to one hundred and eighty (180) days, with effect from February 1, 2026.

SRO 37 of 2019 regulation 2(1) imposes the obligation itself - an alien shall not land in Dominica unless a visa is endorsed in the passport - and regulation 2(2) lists the exemptions; it is the instrument that creates the entry requirement for this regime, made by the Minister under section 28(2) of the Immigration and Passport Act (Chapter 18:01).
The Cabinet Brief, published by the Cabinet Office of the Commonwealth of Dominica, states that Dominican Republic citizens no longer need a visa for visits up to 180 days, effective 1 February 2026.
