Aevamo’s reading
Section 29(1) of the Immigration Act [Chapter 4:02] imposes the obligation that settles this regime: an alien 'shall not enter, be or remain in Zimbabwe unless he is in possession of ... a visa or endorsement', and every category (visa-free, visa-on-arrival, advance visa) is a facility or exemption carved out of that requirement.
The Department of Immigration's Category A page states that the countries it lists (the issuers on this row) are not required to hold a visa to enter Zimbabwe, which is the visa-free entitlement.

What this answer covers Limits & assumptions
Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
