Visa, 6 months
Before you travel: you need a visa from an embassy or consulate.
The allowance is per visit: it starts again on your next entry.
Entry and stay only. What this covers
Entry conditions3 to check
- دخول لمرة واحدة لمدة شهر، أو دخول مزدوج لمدة ثلاثة أشهر، أو دخول متعدد لمدة ستة أشهر، أو تأشيرة عبور لمدة 15 يوماً — the visa applied for in advance grants a stay of 1, 3 or 6 months depending on the option chosen.
- يُشمل المنع كل من يحمل تأشيرة أو ختم دخول أو خروج إلى إسرائيل في جواز سفره — the entry ban also covers any passport bearing an Israeli visa or entry/exit stamp; the traveller can check their own passport.
- The e-visa platform evisa.sy is not yet operational (its homepage still reads 'EVisa Coming Soon' and access to the application interface is practically unavailable), so the visa must be arranged through a Syrian diplomatic mission before travel; where Syria has no mission, Law 2/2014 Article 2(c) provides for the entry mark at the border centre. — the traveller arranges the visa in advance through the consular route.

Aevamo’s reading
Law No. 2 of 2014 Article 2 creates the obligation that every person entering Syria must hold a passport bearing a Syrian-issued entry visa, and Article 7 authorises the Interior Minister to exempt anyone; Decision No. 128 of 2025 exercises that authority by fixing the visa fees and the fee-exempt nationalities.
Enab Baladi's report of Decision 128 states the fee rule for countries not named in any group — a 50-dollar entry visa for a one-month single entry — with the decision's stamp fees settled at Syrian border crossings and airports (تسدد قيمة رسوم السمات عند المعابر الحدودية أو المطارات في سوريا). For these unlisted issuers the visa is recorded as requiring advance arrangement: Law 2/2014 Article 2(b) makes a stamp from a Syrian mission the general requirement for entrants, the e-visa platform is not operational (wego128), and the independent cross-check reads them as requiring advance authorisation, so the conservative and operative answer is that a visa must be arranged before travel.

What this answer covers Limits & assumptions
Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
