El Órgano Legislativo de El Salvador ratificó con 73 votos a favor el acuerdo bilateral suscrito en mayo de 2019 para la exoneración de visa entre El Salvador y Bolivia, con la finalidad de facilitar recíprocamente los requisitos de viaje por turismo o visita entre nacionales de ambos países; es decir, ahora los bolivianos que deseen ingresar al territorio nacional o los salvadoreños que deseen viajar a Bolivia podrán permanecer en cada nación por un período de 90 días sin que implique el ejercicio de actividad remunerada o lucrativa

Decreto 286 (Ley Especial de Migración y de Extranjería) creates the obligation: Art. 38 requires every foreigner to carry a visa unless exempt, Art. 29 establishes the A/B/C visa categories, and Art. 84 defines the tourist stay limit. The RREE classification, the CA-4 manual and the DGME notice implement or supplement these articles rather than creating the obligation themselves.
The DGME, El Salvador's migration authority, states that the Legislative ratified the bilateral visa-exemption agreement with Bolivia and that Bolivians may now enter and stay 90 days without a visa; this supersedes Bolivia's Category B listing in the older classification table.
